It boggles my mind when I see that my site is generating on average 240,000 page views per day according to Google Analytics and Awstats, with at least 2 banner ads on each page, you'd think I'd be getting over 500,000 impressions a day with the ad networks, yet I'm only seeing about 50,000 impressions a day. What's going on here? I've tried CPX Interactive, Kitara, BannerConnect and I've just tried Adtegrity, and all of them show approximately the same amount of impressions. Adtegrity has no excuse when they have a 100% fill rate. Where are all the impressions going? I emailed the director of Adtegrity and he assured me that an impression is not counted on a time limit, or for any other reason, if it loads and a person sees it, I get paid for it. I've triple checked all the code on my pages and have seen that there is no problem with the code and I am not running ads by other networks. Anyone else having this problem??? High page views but low impressions??
Well, You are receiving 240,000 page views, but how many unique visitors do You have? most of the companies You've listed pays for 1000 UNIQUE impressions. So if Your visitors sees more than 3 pages every time they visit Your site You'll be getting paid only for the FIRST page with banners - that's why the best thing is to have ad rotator, and be signed up to 5/6 different companies - then every visit will be counted in many networks ( sorry if something is hard to explain, i'm still learning english )
It sounds rational. I am with rightmedia, and from there I am with 4 different adnetworks, CPX, Banner connect, kitara and Oridian. And yet I am still getting only about 50,000 impressions a day in there. They never say anything about unique impressions, even the director of Adtegrity said each time a banner loads, I get paid for it, unique or not. If its an impression its and impression. It's strange. Does yesadvertising really pay that high cpm?? I might try them.
Yes, yesadvertising pays up to 1.80$ per 1000 of UNIQUE impressions of popups banners from UK/US based traffic ( other countries have lower rates), it also offer inpage banners inersitial and so. Also i went to Adtegrity and Banner connect and found no word about they paying for EVERY impression - so I assume the worst, that they pay only for unique impressions. Thet would explain why You've got only 50,000 from Your 240,000. Also I advice You to check in Your server statistics what browser Your user use the most - I personally use opera and I can block some ads, same goes for firefox, which has good plugins which also blocks most of ads, so I'm pretty sure, that You're loosing about 10-15% of ads impressions because of this adsblockers.
70% internet explorer 10% firefox Hrmm I guess you are right then. That's a shame then. I might stick with Adsense then because at least they count every impression, and I'll probably make more with Adsense anyway, unless I get into Tribal Fusion or something. Thanks anyway.
Glad I could help . You may also consider staying with 2/3 CPM networks + adsense, for example 2 adsense ads and one CPM banner, and with every refreshing of the page ( or goind on further ) the CPM banner would be rotating thanks to some script ( the are much of free scripts, even writing something like that shouldn't be hard ). That way You'll be making money mainly from Adsense + little/average revenue from CPM.
Check the bounce rate in Google Analytics. If it's too high chances are you have too many users that just hit the page and moves out within a few secs. Some ad networks have delayed load and accounting - there could be a minor delay after the ad getting loaded and then counting your impressions. It's not true that CPM ad networks pay per unique impressions. It's only Page-Per-Mile or 1000 impressions only Cheers, Ajith
Speaking for Kitara Media, we count and pay for every impression served. If you are seeing a discrepancy in impressions, there is probably a code implementation problem or you may have bad data from your stats program. Considering you tested multiple networks with the same outcome, I'd suggest you investigate the technical side of tag implementation. Good Luck. Bob Kitara Media
I have nearly 300,000+ pageviews per month. I used Kitara Media in my site through right media network. In the first month, they paid $.22 ecpm for approax. 100,000 impression. Rest were filled with PSA. Next month the cpm dropped to $.16 and they served only 50,000 impression. In the 3rd month cpm dropped even lower and ad impression was less than 30,000. For 1 million pageviews in 3months, I was able to earn only $34.xx from Kitara media. Fianally I removed the ads from my site without getting paid, because their minimum payout amount is $75. It looks like they make sure that you never reach the minimum payout amount .
Kitara Media uses a revenue share model and if your traffic doesn't mesh with the advertisers, (which is over 1000 advertisers presently) we will see a decline in rate of return. Also, if you have allot of repeat views from the same unique IP, this will also dilute your eCPM. We still do pay on each impression but your users do have to earn the transaction. Ultimately, our advertisers need users who work for them by clicking or buying or signing up. Perhaps if you were to rotate ad networks over a 30 day cycle this might be more revenue positive. PM me and we'll get your Kitara account closed out and that balance settled. Brad
