I have not been in to Google for a while its my mistake I know I should have. I went in today to pause one site that we are updating.

I saw this new function (for me) that now you can see where the clicks come from on content network and o man o man what a nightmare

Let me just say that 90 % of the sites where Arab Mp3 download sites even if I have put the countries to western they still live there I guess and they watch these sites.

But how they get Thai Flowers to Arab Mp3 I do not know.

Most of the sites violated Adsense rules 2 or 3 times with pop up ads with Google and pictures on the ads or near the ads. Many CTR was 100 %

Lucky for me the money was not that big and I sent a report to Adword but they are going to say as normal nothing wrong nothing wrong.

Here are some of the quality sites Google Adword presented me for the Keyword Thailand Florists

I blocked them off course but I guess I have to keep blocking them to not get tricked.

I never had any customer coming from the content network, so I was always using the search network. Now I know why this content network is so bad...
I am sure Google will diffuse quickly advise to avoid been published on that kinds of website...

Sounds like they do not have any sites to place your ads on. I can not believe that people looking for Mp3 in arab countries would click on ads to see thailand florist so traffic seems to be false.

One lesson I got from Adwords is make sure you disable to content network and press save the button if you are really concern about your investment or you are still new with PPC.

This is because by when you create a new campaign, by default it will turn on the content network. So make sure you are not forget about it. My mistake, I'm forgot about it and after 2 days off from internet, then when I come back I got a lot of click which not converted well.

Is there anyway I can disable the content network by default?

The content network can work sometimes.

I've got campaigns that are more successful on content than on search.

That said, I've had problems in the past with a campaign aimed at people in the UK appearing on websites in the USA. Rather than remove them from the content network (as they were profitable most of the time) I stopped them displaying on the sites in question, and changed my advert text to make it clear that it was aimed at the UK.

I think we've all had some run-ins with the content network. I've put my bids down to a small % of the search network because of this.

did you think i got some money back from Google? noooo i got a 4 page email on what to do next and how good they are :) I will post it later and tell you what happend.

I reported all the urls to adword and you think they could reach out over the table and say "HEY adsense, this guy reporting many sites and can you do something about it" nooooo they can not do that they had to ask me to fill in another form HOW NICE OF THEM.

I've heard that geo targetting (in the UK anyway) is down to where your ISP is located, not where your target market is! Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

That's how it seems to work in the UK. Which makes it a bit pants, to be honest.

Hmm, not convinced of that. I run a few campaigns that are very tightly targeted and Analytics shows connections only from towns within my custom area. Given that we're talking about 5000 clicks a month for each of them, if the geo-location was based on the ISP I'd expect to see a good few coming from outside the area but in the last month I had just 3 outside the UK (and in fairness even those may have been while I was changing the account).

If it was based on the ISP location I would have thought geo-targeting would be next to useless, not just pants :D and that doesn't match my experience.

    Put it like this.

I was running a campaign in the UK only on the content network.

It appeared in the hindustan times, shaadi.com, and (as mentioned earlier) www.ifly.com, which gives flight details for the USA and Canada only.

Looking now, I see they have adverts for UK flight delays and a hotel in Aberdeen (that's in Scotland) on their site, so it's not just me.

On the search network, here's what Google says...

The content network can be a REAL killer. Better to leave it until you are really sure how to use it.

yeah I never had much luck with the content network so I stick to the search network unless, of course, I see it converting.

Good Luck with your campaign and I'd like to see if they do anything about the blatant violations.
