Even if you could get that keyword, they wouldn't pay 100% of the click price and the chances are that the #1 advertiser will only pay that as his max, so he can get cheaper clicks by having the other advertisers lower their cpc rate.

Yes they do have an option to only show on Yahoo's search, its pretty much the same layout of adwords ;) I know that most of those advertisers dont even use or like YPN... I can almost gurantee that I am correct because no one gets those kind of high paying clicks anymore...

I've been watching my campaign starting January practically on the hour. Yes, RPC has dropped, but it's not just YPN is paying less. It's because the advertisers are dropping out of content. I know this, because I track what ads are on my site, and what they are bidding on YSM Bid Tool. I know that ads that used to bid high have no longer been on my site, and that lesser bidding ads are there.

That's the reason for the decrease. So many people are now into ad targeting (for ads that aren't relevant to their site) and for click arbitrage. In most cases, this causes poor conversion, so consequently advertisers stop running campaigns.

When they drop out, ads are replaced by the lower paying advertisers. IMO, this is the primary reason earnings have gone down.

Yo-Yo is correct back in the day YPN did pay high click amounts, I think I got a $37.00 click once as well as other very high clicks. They must have been paying near 100%.

How does YPN compare to Google? I think July is supposed to be the lowest month in web traffic. People are out doing summer stuff, etc. I'm hoping when school starts up again web traffic will go up.

Just wait for november. When people start shopping for xmas... earnings skyrocket like crazy... sites that don't make a dime all year make hundreds of dollars in a month... im thinking of changing the month of november to my xmas :D

for all we know, yahoo has decided that those keyword prices are only for advertising on the yahoo website, not the ypn publisher network.

which is exactly how google does it... since the split between content/search in november, advertisers can opt out of the publisher network... so with adwords, keywords on the search network now cost a whole lot more than the content network... and publishers get paid accordingly.
