Very bad adwords customer service

I had some issues with my adwords account. For some reason, adwords automatically enabled auto-tagging which added "?gclid =xxxxxxxx' to the landing pages and was never told about it. I have a PHP e-commerce site, the gclid was making the page to go in French (default) instead of English (I was targeting US customers...).

We asked them for a credit but they answered us that the analytics code on our page was not correct (it was copied paste directly from their website), supposely the code is different for dynamic website but nowhere it was said.

Anyhow, we are spending around 2000$ monthly with Adwords. When its time to pay they are quite fast but support is terrible.
They just answered me with copied pasted emails, whatever I was writting them they were replying the same thing and it takes over 24h to get an answer. Well if I was spending 20$ per month I wouldnt complain about this kind of support but at 2000$ monthly I expect blazing fast and custom replies...

Anybody knows if the support is in US or India?

Feel free to share your bad experience with Adwords support here ;)

Give them a call but it was YOUR mistake, NOT Google's. Google sent the traffic you paid for to your site. End of story. You're not going to get your money back.

And $2000 a month? Trust me, you'll need to be spending a LOT more to be getting personal support. We didn't get our reps until spend was over $100k a month.

As far as im concerned Google Adwords is crap, if you pay them USD200 a day the sort of clicks you get are crap. They are a bunch of ignorant money scamming machines. Unless you throw down like 50 G's a month. You anint going anywhere with Google Adwords, they dont care about you never did.

Its always best to move out of Google Adwords, join other campaigns etc.

As for the reps, customer service just a bunch of Indians working for under wage.

Adwords is a good tool for driving traffic to your site, your site has to hold up though, meaning that I don't think its the sort of thing where you can expect to get a lot of people to buy a specific product on their first visit, sign up for something where they have to pay, etc. If you use it right and build a site like a web community that will gain users over time and people will come back to the site it works well. Also, if your site is legitimate, has a lot of content, is useful to your users you can still display Adsense ads (even though you are using Adwords to drive traffic) and basically offset your costs. A lot of people are looking for a way to use Adwords to make a quick buck but thats not what its intended for, it is actually a great way to get clicks to your site if you know how to use it.

Adwords support is pretty lame and very slllooooooowwwww

and 2K / mth is peanuts, you need to be up atleast 1 million annually before they take notice. I know I guy who spent over $7.4 million with them and they were still crap, but he did do alot of balck hat that pissed them off all the time.

Analytics is slow the data is usually 24 hrs old I recommend using www.hopurl.com

it can mask your url plus it has awesome ad splitting & tracking tools

    best of all its FREE

There are a lot of misleading e-mails flying around here...

There's nothing wrong with Adwords. It does exactly what it says that it does. Google even have an extensive help system to ensure you get the most out of it. People who complain that it doesn't work generally have one of two problems:

    1) They couldn't get it to work, and given how intelligent they are, it must the Adwords that's at fault.

    2) They heard from a number 1 that it didn't work, and don't need to try it themselves.

If you can't get Adwords to work, then usually it's because you haven't read up on how it works, or your website isn't as good as your competitors' sites at converting the traffic (so they can afford to pay more per click than you do).

You certainly don't need to spend a lot of money to make Adwords work for you - we had a restaurant with a £5 per day budget on our books for a while, and it worked for them. Google's customer service isn't based in India - and I've always found them to be very approachable (whether it's one of our official reps, or other people within the business).
