Vertical Networks

    I am trying to gain as much information on Vertical Networks.
    I came across this "There are additional targeting techniques, technologies and expertise that vertical networks can deploy that other general networks can't." on a site.

    Does anyone know what these targeting techniques and technologies are exactly?

    I need as much insight into how vertical networks work, so any input at all regarding this subject is welcome.

    A vertical ad network just drills down much deeper into the niche you are targeting, so they are able to reach pretty much everybody in that vertical.

    I'm not sure if vertical networks can deploy additional targeting techniques or technologies that other networks don't have, but they do have a higher expertise in the fields they operate, e.g. AdvertiseGame is a vertical network specializing in game/gaming websites and it's able to offer better and more specific advertising targeting and support that other general networks couldn't. It's not a matter of technology, but specialization.

    So if I wanted to create a vertical network myself, would I have to contact every single publisher and have them agree to be part of my network? Is there no service that can do this for me? How would I have to go about creating my own vertical network?
