Verifying in the Middle East

    Hello there,

I have recently moved to Bahrain (somewhere in the Middle East) 'cause my dad's having some course job here or whatever it is so I'm gonna stay here for a while. I was wondering if it's possible to verify a PayPal account in Bahrain? Also, can I use an American account in order to transfer real money to my PayPal account?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi
Yes, you can verify your paypal account. But recommended to use an american IP.

American IP? Not to sound like an idiot but what's that? And can I use an American account in order to transfer real money to my PayPal account?

Well, what he is saying is to get your account verified while in the US instead of waiting to do it when you are in Bahrain.

However the last time I asked Paypal, if you are going to another country for a short term such as a holiday then fine but otherwise Paypal require you to cancel your US account and open a new one in the country you go in to. Basically, if you have a US account, you should be expected to access it in the US instead of some other countries.

For Bahrain, you can start a Paypal account but it is only good to pay for things rather than receive payments. You will need a Bahrain-issued credit card to verify the account and use that to fund your paypal account.

That's too late because I have already moved to Bahrain so yeah.

So I'll be able to send payments but not receive with a Bahrain paypal account? And with a Bahrain credit card, I'll be able to transfer real money to my Paypal account using the credit card itself, right? But how do I do that? Do I have to get to a bank and ask someone there to transfer the money to my paypal account or something? :S

Well, Paypal does not work the same way out of the US. What you need is to link a credit card to your paypal account and it will fund the account on demand, meaning that you will be maintaining a zero balance all the time and when you buy something through paypal, paypal will get the exact amount from your credit card and pay the seller. If there is a refund, it will go straight to your credit card. You do not need to transfer money to your paypal account and all you need to do is ensure that your credit card is active.

IF you can access your US bamnk account online then you can verify your bank account by entering the test deposit that paypal deposits into your bank account

2nd verification step is to add American credit card to your paypal account and i assume you already have one

    Hope this helps

You'll need a way to get into your statement to get the Enroll number they will send you.. (You can get it if you have an online-bank)

Else just write an email to the Paypal support, and explain your situation. I'm sure they will understand it just fine.
