Verify your contact data email

I keep receiving verify your contact data emails for domain names close to expiring on Namecheap.
The problem is, when I check the contact data, it is the whois guard contact information that is listed which isn't my own.
This is the first time I'm receiving these kind of emails so I'm a little confused about it. Will it be necessary to remove the Whois gaurd now?

I think you can just "suspend" the whois guard and check the information that way. I have to do this when I park a domain with a new parking service. They want to make sure the domain is mine so I have to turn off the privacy for a couple of days.

I've been getting a lot of those messages also and now I just ignore them because I know that all my contact data is up to date. I do a bulk change a few times a year since new domains I buy don't always get changed when they are moved to my account.

An extra tip on contacts: I advise domain owners to NOT use all the same information for all 4 contacts. Or at least use 2-4 different email addresses. If there is a problem with one of your domains, and your email is not working for some reason it could cause you to lose your domain. Make sure there is at least 2 ways for them to contact you.
