Verify Phone Number

    I have failed to verify Phone number after 3 times.
    What I did:
    After Phone ring, entered 6 numbers Google give me, then press #
    Did something wrong there?

    First time I heard that Adsense is doing this, what are they actually up to nowadays? Seemed a lot of changes, phasing out publishers, changing the formats of the ads, the clickable areas etc........

    Really hope Microsoft or Yahoo will come out with an attractive alternative so that publishers would not have to be at the mercy of a single dominant company.

    It failed for me too. I emailed them and told them it had failed and they administratively set it for me.

    Yes, If you are a new adsense publisher, when you reach your first $50, You will have to verify phone number. Google will give you a call and asks you to enter the 6 digit numbers they give you. You have 3 times.

    So no more phone calls? they will just set it for you?

    verify phone number was there to begin with some time ago. then google removed it due to increasing number of people having problem with this phone verification. didn;t know that google started back on this again. i suggest you email google and ask them. when the phone verification was there before, lot of people had problem with it so it may not be that you did something wrong. that never worked properly for everyone before anyways.

    I think Phone verification is required by Google now for US-based publishers, either residents or non-residents.

    @cheapez, did you put cellphone or a VOIP number on this ? They say that if it's failed, try to change it to a landline number.

    I just confirmed the phone verification days before. It is quite easy. First you need to go to your Adsense account, and then enter your phone number and click send. An artificial phone call will ring the phone number you just entered. You have to write it down the number she told you. Actually she will repeat it three times. Finally fill these 6 digit number and confirm. That is it.
