Oh yeah? Schools and colleges were closed ALL over india. I'm a college student myself, and I have a few friends in highschool, so I do know that. Lots of shops were closed too. And I don't live in the capital or such, I live in a peaceful city on the foothills of himalayas, there aren't too many bad elements here. And whom exactly did you speak to? My dad's been a lawyer for over 25 years, even he thought it wasn't safe to go out till the verdict came out and the situation assessed.

There were chances of a riot, can't be so sure. but they're appealing again, and if it comes out in the favour of one side, the other side might cause problems.

Are you even from India? May I please know who you might be, Sire?
The compromise he's talking about is the distribution of the land between the three segments, that's clear to even a 17 year old(which is me).
Hindus MIGHT have rioted if the decision was in favour of the Muslims, And Muslims MIGHT have rioted if it was in favour of Hindus. India is a highly religious country, these are touchy subjects with the majority of the uneducated poor population. And let me ask you again, Are you from India? If yes, where from?

Not true by all stretches of imagination. I live in the same country as you are. Lots of shops were closed, yes but most out of the lot you are talking about have only closed in the afternoon and the traders were seen rushing to bars to down a drink. Okay, these are the trivial details you should find out for yourself.

And whom exactly did you speak to?
I am not sure what you mean by this. But since you are a college/school kid, I don't think I can't explain it to you. I guess you are referring to my question to Helvetti where I asked as to who he might be? You need not get offended by a remark not referring to you.

I can't help your dad's perceptions and decisions to not go out. Streets were crowded here with children playing and running around. You are a school kid and not supposed to stray into P&R. You are likely to face explosives here.

I'm done arguing with someone so narrow minded and living in a fairyland(Sorry about the rudeness, I'm done trying to prove that there COULD have been riots, which you obviously fail to comprehend, even with all the security measures the government took), what I was referring to was this:
It wasn't a terrorist attack? And my dad is on panel for the medical council, the Nagar Nigam, and Hindustan liver, so I think he may know a teensy weensy bit more about the real situation than you.
I'm unsubscribing to this thread now. If it makes you happy, I agree to your claim that all the newspapers, news channels, and the government and everyone else was over-exaggerating and there was no chance of riots because of the Ayodhya verdict.

Good for you. I honestly believe that this isn't any place for school kids. Focus on your studies instead, not politics. Just in case you happen to get back here, this is what I want you to read from me...
you are quoting, wielding and getting carried away by media propaganda, half baked political overtures and overreacting local administrations. If only you had learnt somethings from your dad, you would start analyzing things on your own taking media inputs which are just that, nothing more, nothing less.
