assuming he is a dictator, which I highly doubt it specially when it comes from Bush and Americans, it is usual for US to support dictators, examples are many, Iran Shah, Mubarak, Saudi's .................................etc

so why are they so bothered with Chavez?

How about doing a little research before speaking on the subject? Because thinking that "Bush and the Americans" are the only ones who think he is a dictator shows how ignorant you are on the subject. How about letting his actions speak?

Hugo Chavez has tried once already to get his term to be extended indefinitely. His people voted against it. He is now trying to do it again. Someone who wants to rule his country until death, not allowing his people to have a say, is a dictator.

Hugo Chavez frequently silences his people and their right to free speech. Chavez makes local radio and TV stations air ONLY programming that shows the government in a positive light. Anything negative said about Chavez or the government is not allowed to be aired, hence no free speech. He has even shut off signals to stations that refused to comply. He also introduced a law which basically makes the TV and radio part of the state, hence programming and shows are controlled by the government.

Hugo Chavez has also successfully thrown some human rights groups, like Human Rights Watch, out of the country. He doesn't want the world to know how much he violates the rights of his people.

And these are just a few examples. Read up on him, then tell me if he's someone we want to support for peace and freedom....

ok, I will read when I have time about him, but this did not answer my question, assuming he is a dictator, US have a long history in supporting dictators around the world, so I do not think they care about Venezuelan people and their freedom of speech, or their freedom in general, as long as the dictator is a US puppy, then he can shut them up, torture them, burn them, fry them, prison them ...
