Vendor Question about Exit Pop Ups

Hopefully you guys can answer this.

Like many other vendors, we are planning on having an Exit Pop up deployed on our pitch page that, if the user presses cancel, will redirect them to a new page offering a special discount on the product. The question is, would the second page offering the discount be set up in CB as another product? Would it require approval and a separate launch fee? How do we prevent the discounted version from appearing in the marketplace?

Or is there an easier way to do this?

    Thanks in advance...

If you want to use an exit popup consider that:
    a) your affiliates making PPC campaigns will need a different pitch page
    b) if you want that your affiliates get paid (you should..) you need to setup a second product (you can have up to 500 per account without additional fees); being a discounted version of the first product the approval process is quite fast.

    Hope this helped.

our affiliates getting paid is top priority. period.

Why would affiliates need a different pitch page though? We should be able to pass the affiliate variable in the URL string (right?). I am not that technical....

Yes, but for those using PPC you need to provide them a page (passing the affiliate link) without the exit popup or they never have their capaign online: they don't allow landing pages that can't be exit with simple browser back button (and with exit popups you need at least 2 mouse clicks)

No it doesn't require a second launch or approval.

Simply go to your clickbank account, and add another product with a discounted price. The users who see the discounted offer will be redirected to the discounted product.

So for example, if the original product is:

    1.productname.pay.clickbank.net priced at 49.99$

    the discounted offer could be:
    2.productname.pay.clickbank.net priced at 39.99$

So the discounted offer will be a different item from the same product, in the example case above.. the original offer is item number 1, the discounted is item number 2.

You don't need to be approved for this.

very sorry, but, I am still confused. Couldnt the second discount page be treated as just page 2 of the pitch page (often vendors have multi-page sales letters).

    Ripped: THANK YOU!!!

What he meant is as Google does not like its adwords users to land on to a page where there is exit pop up. This is for PPC affiliates who are direct linking.

You can ask your PPC affiliates to add a parameter like exitpopup=0 and handle it in your pitch page and do not show the exit pop up.

What would the parameter be added to?

Also, affiliates aside for a moment, couldn't an adwords advertiser get a campaign approved and add a pop up later?

I guess I am surprised because a lot of big vendors use pop ups for email capture these days and I know these vendors are using PPC.

The parameter depends on the exit popup and how it is programmed.
Yes, you can ad it later IF you want your campaign get locked. (WitheHat)
Probably they make the same way of the affiliates: they use for PPC a landing page without the exit popup ;)
