Google officially hates me. Now Im not talking about the sort of hate that rival siblings have, I mean the hate that only lives in hell! G definately has some form of vendetta against me. Ha, well thats my take on things. I am hoping you guys can explain my unfounded annoyances with some good logic! I have been trying to increase my Page Rank and my incoming links for a very long time on google. I have spent around 300$ on directories and like 150$ or so on advertising on sites. I dont understand though why though, google won't show that I have any links coming to me. This must be affecting my ranking. I am indexed but its nearly impossible to find me for any relevant terms. If you search on Yahoo or MSN for such terms like Games server hosting uk, or something I have ranked 1st in the past, but on google I am not even in the top 1000. I have over 300 links in MSN and Yahoo link:www.invision-gaming.co.uk and links coming from PageRank 6 sites, PR5 PR4 like 20 or so. Google doesnt show any of these. Is there a reason why? Why G Why!
Okay so maybe I should have made a more relevant topic name. Anyone can still help me with this? I want o buy more links before PR update but whats the point if google dont even notice them. And I wont move up the SERP. THey dont see any links to me yet they are on very high ranked pages (they arent rel=nofollow if someone asked)
The links you bought are probably very visible as bought links. In other words: you have to either build great content and market that and get free, quality links from related sites OR buy links 'under the radar': from sites where it is clear the majority of the links aren't bought and your link fits in topically.
I have links on: clantemplates (needs to be cached) halflife2files.com PR6 (redirect below) http://halflife2.filefront.com/ PR6 Aviva directory.. Like 6 other PR5 directories. The only links that are incoming are from WHT and my own site. You cant think that google thinks the links from clantemplates and halflife2files are bad?
IF all the links you have are directory and paid links then you don't have much at all. Its probably worse if your paid links are obvious. Google is becoming better and finding obvious paid links. Google doesn't hate you....your probably just not doing SEO correctly
Well, is that link related to your subject? Another question is: how old is your site? How crowded is your topic? If your topic is gaming, the answer is probably that because the amount of sites covering that is so large, new sites are going to have trouble getting google to take them seriously. You need some aggressive marketing then. Link bait should work in your niche (not that it is easy to do).
Can you explain that? My site is 12 months old. Take a look. All of the content is original. Everything is coded nicely imho. Its all fresh. But I mean google surely cant penalise all my links? I mean that would mean I can sabotage other peoples SEO strats by adding their links to Directories. Thats like the number one rule for SEO isnt it? Incoming links cant hurt you? Yes the sites are related. You cant get much better then hl2files website to be honest. I have others on united-forums . co . uk for example on their main home page. The content there is empty so nothing really to compare with but on the fourms its gaming. Then I have links on like 20 clan websites. 200+ directories. Whats the point of making all these links and spending money n websites. I am seletive on a lot of my bought links to mak sure its related. But I mean reallly.... this is exxtreme. On a side note. Yahoo loves me and I rank relatively well. I think google just doesnt like me cause I dont have a site map. Lol. Im doing that tonight though. 13 months without a sitemap. *g*
the incoming links are not going to hurt you...they are also not going to help you either. you have a uk domain name...you are not going to get much traffic from the main google site. you have 1,251 links. And that's counting your internal links. Check the other gaming sites by going to yahoo and checking the other gaming sites. use linkdomain:www.www.invision-gaming.co.uk to check yours and then check your competitors. Some of them have over 100,000 links, you just have 1,000. Target some easier to achieve keywords. You have a long way to go so stop complaining and get to work.....or give up. Almost anyone can rank well in Yahoo....but does it give you any traffic?.....No
I only want UK traffic so thats why i chose not to use the www.invision-gaming.com domain in place of co.uk Using the .co.uk is relevant since IM a UK site.
Hola, I hope I can be of some help, one thing that stands out asap when I look at your site as a Search Engine would, you have no meta tags. While people have said the actual meta tags are of the past, I disagree. I think they are still important and should be used. Using meta tags I'm on the front page when you search for "free seo solutions" or "free seo solution" among many others! That aside, your title currently looks like: I would personally change it so that it says.... The reason I suggest this is simple, the Search Engines read from top left to bottom right. The title is key to search engines, having your name first before your keywords is a common mistake people make. Those two things alone should help tremendously. On the other hand you have hardly enough links and I'm talking small or strong ones to compete with some sites that are under the term "High Quality Game Servers"
The basics: you are a relatively new player in a competitive field. To succeed you need to make sure what you offer is excellent. The next step is aggressive marketing. I'd suggest adwords and links bought at your competitor sites. Getting traffic is the main thing right now. Free traffic and free natural links will also follow (if what you offer is quality).
I disagree on the metatags. You do need good title and description tags though. I'd go with a slight adaptation of what you have. leave the homepage as is. Invision Gaming :: High Quality Game Servers Provider / Hosting Go for the opposite order on every other page: specific content of page here > Invision Gaming For a site just starting up I think you have too many ads. Go for less adsense right now, or less prominently. You want people to stay on your site, not move on to your competitors.
Id like to see some proof of where his current title would ever work.... I can almost gurantee it wont help as much as the one I suggested.
Ive been paying about 650$ a month on adwords which has worked. I took this month off to see the impact. I dont want to say how much we make a month for obvious reasons. But in December, we made X amount. So far this month in January we have improved our traffic but had only 50% of the turnover and 30% new clients. This is the last time I take time out from adwords. I have been advertising on Adwords religisouly for the last 10 months by the way.
About ad words, they are a place holder till you get up in the top 10, then you can start to cut back slowly as you continue to move up!
SEOkit are you available for some paid consultation time. MSN chat, I would suggest voice but Im on a very old laptop which barely handles MSN. Let me know prices also if you are willing.
I actually only added the ads at the beginning of the month when I cancelled adwords. This month has been a experimental month to test out different advertisement methods. By the way we arent just starting out, unless 12 months is just starting out.
The current title is good, because it is about branding, not SEO as far as the homepage is concerned. The homepage is only for people who bookmark the page - and you want them to see your name, not your subject. I suggested adwords for the same reason: branding, not SEO. Branding is part of SEO in the long run.
KH7, everyone is entitled to there own opinion and I respect that of everyone. But I am sorry, even the thought that the title tag on the homepage for branding is just false information. The title tag is used for SEO purposes when you want to become #1. Your domain should be the brand.
