Jeez, people. Never mind the lack of sapience, the things aren't freaking sentient! It's not OMG CRUELTY BWA!!! Stop crying for them (it's a thankless task, you're never gonna see them stand up for themselves), and enjoy a nice burger every now and again!
You might be aware that plants also have life. They are also sensitive to touch and when you take away a fruit from a tree, it gets killed. So, we are also killing plants and vegetables.
I am not a vegeratian I do not know if I could live without eating meat. I eat meat every single day almost.
Yes, some vegetables are hurt or killed when eaten, but fruit taken from a tree is not. Since the source of the fruit is the tree, you don't eat the tree, you eat it's fruit. The purpose of fruit is to be eaten, that's why they contain seeds, for nomadic humans to defecate them where they can and spread out.
If you consider fruit to be a part of a tree and compare it with a human then you can say that you are detaching an organ of a human if you are plucking a fruit from a tree. And I am sure that trees feel the pain when someone plucks a leaf or a fruit from them (it has been scientifically proven). How can you say that the purpose of a fruit is to be eaten? We have made our thinking like this. It wasn't told by anyone. Early man used to eat just flesh.
If you detach an organ from a human, the human eventually gets sick and dies. Does a tree do that? Didn't think so. Also, care to give me the "scientific proof" that a tree feels pain when fruit is taken off? Early man lived near or at the equator and ate the abundant fruits that were there. Humans don't have the enzymes to even digest meat and our intestinal length is much longer than of carnivores. Get your facts straight son.
If you detach an organ like a hand or a foot, the human will not die. Here is some proof: Wikipedia (Read it completely, it has enough references.) I will present more later!
Actually it probably would from blood loss. There was nothing on that link referencing to a tree feeling pain if you picked it's fruit off, everyone knows plants and trees can feel things, but you're just making things up.
