Well i just started using adobe illustrator a few days ago, ive had some experience with it before but not much so you could say this is my first time using it. I made a few vector guitars, could you please take a look and critique:

The second one would look nicer with more details.

The first one is okay but I think the curves are a bit sudden. Also, try playing with shading.. even if you stick to solid tones.

You can try adding very little shades of gray on the Guitar Hero controller, were these based on a photograph?

Ye these were based on a photograph. What do you mean by shades of grey?

They look pretty good, I was never really able to get the hang of using Illustrator, so I just use the pen tool in Photoshop at incredibly high resolutions. It works okay for what I do with it.

Hm... I don't even see a direction of light (it's not coming from the right or left) strongly, so I guess you can leave it as is :)

You can add a very light gray gradient on the guitar if you want

Ok, i was playing around and i got this... I just copied the guitar over twice then then used the subtract pathfinder thing, and then put it onto the guitar, i think it gives it a bit better look.
