What is the best way to save the config.php file with your vBulletin information?

    A HTML editor?

I personally prefer to use notepad++ , i've had some bad php editing experiences with notepad.

    http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm

Syntax highlighting is use full, however config.php isn't that complex a file to edit so I think you will be safe with regular old notepad.

Awesome, you can copy / paste from Wikipedia!

Even better, your contribution had nothing to do with the topic either ;)

Had the word "vBulletin" in there. Doesn't that count for something? ;)

    Reported anyway.

I use the vi editor. Considering that we're talking about editing a file that's already on the server probably, it's easier to do that instead of downloading, editing, and uploading. You don;t have to worry about charsets and formatting with vi either.
