vBulletin - where do I add $ad_network?

I have tried adding it to the footer...when I follow this:

In the Styles/Templates section of the Admin section, edit the SHOWTHREAD_SHOWPOST, printthread and footer templates...

I can't find "printhread and footer" inside of the SHOWTHREAD_SHOWPOST section.

I tried adding $ad_network to the overall footer, but that didn't do anything.

My .txt file is set to 666, but nothing is showing up in it. Could that be the issue?

    Thanks,

    brandon

They aren't inside SHOWTHREAD_SHOWPOST templates, they are their own templates.

Attached is a screenshot of my footer...is that how the $ad_network should be implemented? Nothing is showing in my footer, that "Christian Music Lyrics" link does show, but no coop.

    Any ideas?

Ya, plugins are installed and they are active (activated by themselves).

php and txt file are both uploaded...txt file is 666 but nothing in it.

Using a brand new 3.5.4 vBulletin that was converted from phpnuke ->phpbb ->vbulletin

I imported the vbulletin files like it shows on the setup by going to:
AdminCP -> Plugin System -> Manage Products -> Add/Import Product

    Did I miss something?

If you access the ad_network PHP file directly, does it put anything in the .txt file?

    Shawn,

I have my forums on a subdomain, but I had the php and txt file in my root domain where vBadvanced is...I copied them to my subdomain folder and they showed up instantly.

    Thanks for the help.

I have the same problem: http://www.pbidir.com/forum/
I have no ads for now. However if I access ad_network_271.php directly, it stores a few ads in ad_network_271.txt. I followed all steps of the vBulletin tutorial. I set up the plugin, I added the $ad_network variable to SHOWTHREAD_SHOWPOST, printthread and footer templates, and I have ad_network_271.php and ad_network_271.txt in the public_html directory.

    Any idea?

    Thanks,
