vBulletin v3.6.0 (Beta 1)

Looks like vBulletin Community is testing their new vb build (vBulletin v3.6.0) in their official support forums. Check the annoucement thread at http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1136208

The Multi-Quote is something I had expected much with vBulletin. Also ‘Reason for Editing’ Available on Quick Edit has been implemented in this new build.

Just to reiterate, this is not a comprehensive list of new features in vBulletin 3.6 - we will be revealing more in the coming days.

    Cheers,
    Dreamchaser

I don't, only if it's a huge upgrade. I only upgrade for security, same.

I upgrade every upgrade. Takes less then 15 minutes. This one looks pretty neat, I hope I don't have to redo templates.

I upgrade each time as the site of mine doesnt take much to get any hacks working again... just a few lines of code in a couple of files.

If I had a lot more hacks then it would suck.

I do every upgrade... vBulletin's DIFF system on templates and hooks/plug-ins make it a 20 second affair.

I just went through all the new stuff for vBulletin 3.6, and it looks pretty awesome IMO. The only major thing I wish they would revamp is the "Report A Post" system. I wish it went into a queue instead of just a generic email to all moderators. That way if someone has already taken care of it, others aren't bothered by looking at it again.

Actually, I don't think that at all about the vBulletin developers... In my experience, they are always adding the "little" things that give vBulletin it's polish. If you look at the list of new stuff, most of the stuff is boring, little changes (no pictures). For example, the lastpostid storage in 3 tables is HUGE as far as I'm concerned (even though it's a "little" thing). It certainly has no wow factor. ;)

I see a few of my custom plug-ins on this forum being scraped with 3.6 (since they added the functionality). My signature restrictions plug-in, RSS feed caching, APC Datastore support, etc...

But MAN... I just want the "Report This Post" thing to be a queue system vs. email! Please!! haha

3.6 is looking great, i'm very impressed with vBulletin. The "Infraction System" looks like it's going to be really good, it'll be very useful on one of my forums that has a number of problem users.
