Can you show me or PM me samples of your forum.
I'm planning to start some forum too. But I need to be right this time.
I had some really bad experience with SMF 2 years ago.

    Thanks Nuno.

Sure. You can look on my signature or visit http://f0rums.com

Over there you can register a forum for your testings, make postings to see how it looks of just visit other forums like this one that was made just a few days ago: http://downloads.f0rums.com

If you're planning on starting a forum, you're welcome to work with me.

I am providing the subdomains, the forum and the hosting for free and you get revenue from the forum with your own adsense code.

If you make a substantial profit from the forums in the future, just give me whatever you feel as the right value for the service that is made available.

    :)

A forum I used to run got hacked after I sold it. That was because they didn't upgrade versions or anything (still hasn't upgraded).

Didn't matter to me anyway. I would have uploaded it but the new owner didn't want me to have FTP/cPanel access.

You want proof of MyBB being good secure software? http://www.hackforums.net
It's under constant attack and yet it's still up and running. A complete testimonial to how well MyBB was written. And I don't have any special core file edits to enhance security. It's MyBB 1.4.11. The only time site was exploited was from a bad plugin last year but that can be a problem with any forum software.

I personally like both forum software, both have their good and bad points. MyBB is free which is really great and is why a lot of people would consider using it over vB, it really depends on user preference I suppose.

Yes, it's surely the best way of spending money on expensive licenses that could be avoided with myBB.

vBulletin is good, but it is expensive for a license, there are better forums they MyBB (phpbb for example).

If your looking for free - phpbb

if your looking for paid - vBulletin.

We don't have to do any file edits installing a mod and we don't have to spend 40 minutes installing a mod. We just have to do upload, and click. Besides, you shouldn't support vBulletin (or IPB, for that matter) unless you've owned a license. Your opinions will change when you have to deal with their developers, support, and such.

i have used both Vbulletin and MYBB, currently i am using VB just because all my members need VB instead of MYBB. They all find that paid software is good over a free one..
But i find MYbb is far better than Vbulletin, just because, of its simple interface, which even a layman can understand in a matter of few hours and not like vbulletin, where it is difficult to get the things right.. and also the mods of Vbulletin is difficult to install, when compared with MYBB<

MYBB is the best Bulletin board.

For free software, MyBB is very very good. However, of the two, I think vBulletin has the edge despite the price tag.

At the moment, anyway, MyBB2 may change all that!
