I am trying to put a shopsite store on to my Vbulletin forum (we are using a vbseo plug), here are the comments from the shopsite installer:

The public_html/.htaccess file in this site that is created by (or for) your forum software contains extensive re-write rules that are affecting the rest of your site (any pages/directories that are not part of the forum software, in this case specifically the public_html/store directory and the public_html/cgi-bin/ directory).

After installing ShopSite on this account, I was unable to login to the ShopSite even though all of the ShopSite configuration is correct. I kept getting redirected to the homepage at http://www.smallbusinessforum.com. I I tried changing a couple of settings in your host's cPanel interface for this site and nothing seemed to work, but after a while it just started working. Although I returned any settings in the cPanel back to the way I found them, it looks like something may have removed the 'RewriteEngine On' line from your public_html/.htaccess file, so I added that in and it appears to have fixed your forum issues.

We tried installing it on http://www.smallbusinessforum.com/store which directs you back to the home page.

Although you can access a specific .html file within this directory, see:

    http://www.smallbusinessforum.com/store/09179.html

So, in order to keep your forum stuff working I will leave it as it is, but in order to have the ShopSite stuff work at the same time on this account you will need to get with someone who knows/supports your forum software and find out what you can do to modify the rewrite rules in your custom public_html/.htaccess file to leave the store and cgi-bin directories alone.

Any suggestions or if you can fix the problem for a fee, let me know. Thanks.
