I have the external thingymabob set up to create an rss feed out of the forum topics.

However I cant get it to display part of the actual post aswell.

I know this can be done because this forum has it!

    Anyone in the know?

    Thanks!

Just pull what you need directly from the database. (10 most recent posts etc)

I was hoping for an easier way, like a plugin or something.

I found quite a good little php to rss tutorial here the other day actually, might give that a go.

    What about this? :D

Go to your ACP > vBulletin Options > Content Syndication (Javascript, RSS, XML)

There you can set the limit of threads shown in the RSS feed.

You can also use a timelimit for how old a thread can be to still be displayed in the RSS Feed. However to use this function you need to add &lastpost=1 to the RSS Feed url

I am just trying to grab the RSS feed from a vBulletin site, I do not own the site/forum.

Is there another QueryString I can add to the url to get more items?

    external.php?type=rss&forumids=6&...

Or is there documentation on this somewhere?

The forum would need to have feeds turned on. If the basic feed url is not working, then they likely have it disabled.
