Vbulletin Question: Old Forum vs New Forum?

We are currently running vBulletin version 3.7.2 Patch Level 1.

Vbulletin offers newer versions such as this Forum ( Digital Point )..... So was wondering if it's worth upgrading to vb's newest Forum software? I've hard newer versions are complicated and one must re-learn the control panel, etc. And most vbulletin style Forums -- the older style looks pretty darn good. Examples: www.digitalcorvettes.com and www.moderncamaro.com to name a few....

Question: Is it worth it to upgrade? Pros vs cons?

We are also starting a new Forum, and again going with vbulletin. We can choose an older style like 3.6.4 ( DigitalCorvettes.com / GRINGOTALK ) or our current 3.7.2 Patch Level 1 or the new style, like here @ Digital Point.

    Thanks in advance

If you aren't developing your own features/add-ons, the best version to run probably is the 3.8.5... as there is a wide array of skins, plug-ins, etc.

If you are custom coding your own features, I'd say it would be best to go with vBulletin 4 so you aren't replicating your work in the future when/if you do upgrade.

I would also go with vBulletin 4 as it's clearly stepping into the web 2.0 era.

Like Shawn said, unless your able to code your own stuff, stay with the VB 3.X series.

The next release of VB 4 is supposed to change up the template system. So unless your ready to go in and fix all of the stuff that get changed up in the next release, your going to be better off with 3X.

On my forums - I'am waiting until the developers of vb 4 get more of the bugs fixed, then I might install it.
