I need to find out if you can move a vBulletin forum over to a phpBB forum. What would something like this cost for someone to do? I need to keep as many posts as possible. There aren't many different permissions, so that's not so important.

    Thanks in advance!

have you considered SMF? loads better then phpbb. smf has a converter for most vb versions.

    Thanks Shawn! Perfect!

I have actually, I just like all of the "hacks" that phpBB has. What do you like most about SMF? Could I transfer just as easy without losing data do you think?

you won't lose anything no matter what platform you go with.
smf is superior to phpbb, better mods, (hacks), better themes and most importantly, a support forum thats a hell of a lot better and more active then phpbb.

SMF has also far better security than phpbb.

Phpbb back in version 2.x was a legend in security holes, it was very easy to hack. Version 3 has made progress but is still behind SMF where security is concerned. Of course phpbb's community is more extensive, has more mods etc, but after working with forums for more than 4 years, I would choose smf between the two.

I would suggest myBB instead of phpBB. I recently moved over my forum from phpBB to vBulletin. Can I know why you're switching over to phpBB?
