    Hello,

I am interested in buying a vBulletin license...The license must be owned by you amd must not be expired.

Also, the license must not expire before February 2010.

You may contact me with your price and license details.

    Regards

I guess the same reason why I am looking now only at used vb-licences:

vb changed its policy and I do not trust this new price and upgrade system anymore. It is now 4x more expensive to upgrade the licences then it was the case before.

Not sure whether I want to stay longterm with vb. So in case I will leave vb, it is cheaper used then buying new. The new upgrade prices at vb are shocking! (175 USD vs. 40 USD beforhand)

You are both looking to buy a potentially dead piece of software. If you're unsure about vbulleting (although your username says different) then why buy it in the first place. I believe they should be able to set up a trial/demo for you to check out. Purchasing a 3.8.x series is surely becoming a waste of money.

No, the only reason why so many vb-owners stick with vb is, that they do not get paid for their used licences as they would have expected it. So the keep it.

The licences are dramatically less worth then 4 weeks ago. Nobody is paying anymore 100 or 120 USD, if you have 9 months later to pay agon 175 USD for the renewal.

But the not-anymore-sellers do not realize is, that once thze licence is expired. it is worth ZERO. No transfer possible, no money. The they trash good money (although less then hoped) for nothing ;)

A joke on my end, vbulletinaddict :)

Wha I do believe is that we should sit back for now and see what happens to the old licenses policy, there might be changes at vbulletin in that respect soon. Or not. I might be wrong but I personally believe it is not worth paying $175 to upgrade an expired owned vbulletin 3.8 license to 4.0. Instead, a wise move would be spending the extra $20 to buy a brand new vbulletin 4.0 license. Looking back, you get 2 licenses available to use on 2 websites instead of just one. So paying $175 to upgrade does not make sense to me at this point and I suspect an upcoming change there.

I do not believe that something will improve here. I only see massive switchers from vb to IPB ;)

vb is now a dead horse. Nothing really new with version 4, nothing that IPB does not already offers for a significant cheaper price and a fair upgrade policy. ANd if you purchase mayn IPB licences you get them then for 49 USD each. Mass reduction at vb in contrats is a joke.

I am looking only at used vblicence now, because i ned to finish 2 new projects that have to be online next week. After that, I am done with vb. No money anymore to a company, that does not care about it's customers.

I lost a fortune over night with 10+ licences because they are expired. I will not make the same msitake anymore with vb4.

So if someone wants to sell for a realistic price an unexpired, owned vb licence, I am open for offers.

And also of course IPB licences ;)

I am not yet ready to consider switching to IPB, never been a fan of it while as vBulletin does provide the functionality that a bulletin board needs in my view.
So I'll stick with it, too bad that the vbulletin stuff are most probably aware of this possible scenario and are taking advantage of their customers who for years have been in love with this brilliant piece of software.
