so does xenforo offer lost of good addons to keep things fresh and to offer more to users of forums?are addons easy to implement?
Im not sure really..I am about to purchase an seo forum/ webmaster type site that is running this script and was wondering what is some good addons/extra features that can be added..I have owned a few vbull forums and have had games, adsense sharing and all sort of hacks like that enabled
Well, if you don't even know what you want it to do, probably no point in trying to figure out what it *can* do. You should have your site do what you want... not go on a hunt for things you don't want. hah
I have a clear idea on what I want for my site, but am only asking if there are any good "addons" that can be recommended for me to check out. As i have never used this forum script, I am interested in what members of this forum here can point out or recommend to me different addons they have tried that worked or ones that maybe did not work. Since there is an after market of code writers that make all sorts of "apps" if you will, that maybe most of us that do not have access to all of them would like to see either new, updated or popular
If you're looking for something cheap, then you may be able to pickup a vBulletin 3 license. it's old, but still good software with plenty of plugins.
Hi guys, was searching in google about best SEO friendly forum software and come to this page, So just want to ask that I want to start new "coupon codes and promotional offers" forum as sub domain to my current blog. Which would be the best platform for me? Also does sub domain will help me to rank well in Google or want to implement forum by buying top level domain? Hopefully will soon get answers from anyone here. Thanks Bhavin
vbulletin is greedy imo you buy the license and you jest get 1 month ticket support after it you pay it again and again to get ticket support not like xenfor, once you buy, you get 12months ticket support

Hey dudes....interesting chat. I have my site name....and trying to decide on which program to use. I know that when a "forum" gets popular...it requires more work (helpers, moderators, etc) Now....why is Xenforo so much better than V-Bulletin? What features does Xenforo have that v-bulletin does not? Anyone prefer V-Bullet over Xenforo?
If you prefer vBulletin for your site, use it... One product isn't going to be best for everyone/every site.
Hi, As i said above....haven't picked a software program yet....so i am looking for any constructive input that will help me make a decision. Anyone? why is Xenforo so much better than V-Bulletin? What features does Xenforo have that v-bulletin does not? Is there anything that V-bulletin has the Xenforo does not have?
XenForo is built with the Zend Framework and has a bit of its own too, which uses the MVC model for developing and has much nicer coding standards than vBulletin, therefore being more responsive, faster and much more stable than vBulletin. The features and design are much more intuitive and friendly for new forum users, while it doesn't have all the features that vBulletin has most of them can be found as mods, although some big ones haven't been released, I'm sure they soon will, but if you're not sure what you want to do, I'm sure that won't be a problem. There's many other things you can check. I'd suggest you simply trying to get a demo of both and playing around with them to see which one fits best for you. I'd personally recommend XF, but I'm biased, I ditched vB a long time ago.
Just test the software first and then decide which one that meet your requirement, but I prefer to choose XF. I have one forum that use XF. I like XF because fast loading, easy admin CP and many add-ons.
XenForo for sure. There was a time I would recommend vBulletin to everyone but the software has taken a turn for the worst lately and I personally don't think it's a viable option for any new forums.
You can test and find out more about XF in their official website. If you need help to install XF then let me know, but I'm sure you can handle the installation process.
I want to start coupon and deals forum, So If I will use Xenforo then do I need additional plugin for SEO? Or its default SEO is smart enough to place my forum posts on top pages of Google. Also how about duplicate pages issue in xenforo? I can see many other forum are suffering from duplicate page issue. does default xenforo provide strong robots.txt file so that I can't allow Google to crawl my admin and inner secure pages. Thanks
