For eight years, Jelsoft has produced feature-rich, professional products and backed them up with high quality support, while always maintaining excellent value for money.

Today, for the first time in our history, we are announcing some changes to the way in which we license our products:
    • Increases in the price of all products and services
    • Removal of the renewal fee for add-on products
The removal of the renewal fee for add-on products is effective immediately. All other changes will be introduced on June 2nd, 2008. Further details of the changes are included below this message.

These changes apply retroactively, both to existing licenses and new purchases.

I added this note to my thread about the gold release.

However. I guess that this price change is not so bad. It's like $10-$20 extra on each product. vBulletin is getting better, and better. I don't really mind the change.

vBulletin is a hell of a product, and like BlueEew said, it's getting better with each new version.

I just hope it doesn't keep going up (I doubt it will) because I am thinking about buying a license again.

Well I bet when you factor in inflation the price doesn't really look bad. Your income has gone up due to inflation and products and services will go up as well and vbulletin prices not changing in so long is really surprising.

I thought they would get cheaper - more and more people use and register with them and there growth continues. Don't be surprised if more price raises come in future time.

The only problem for me is that I live in the UK. When I order vBulletin a VAT amount is added on. Which means it is even more for me.

I better get my arse in a move and go buy asap - just in the process of designing my vB skin so a few dollars saved would be good; i personally see no need to put the price up, other than greed of course :p Perhaps they should be introduced to the makers of Wordpress :D

@BlueEew - same here, however can't you just buy in $s anyway? the resession has started, surely the price should come down haha!

The reason they have moved the price up is because they can. There software is the best by far everyone knows this. There developers are brilliant and are constantly working on vBulletin.

Giving the staff a bit more money is okay if you ask me. As long as the service is kept as brilliant as it was before. Maybe the pricing as gone up because they are buying new staff members?

Maybe investing in something good for vBulletin?

Price hike is "alright" THOUGH.. I have a feeling it will be going up again in 1-2 years by another $10. Since vBulletin was bought by another company, it's no wonder the prices are going up.

I don't mind the extra $10, but if it goes up to the IPB price, I'd get an IPB in that case.
