Buying vbulletin & IPB licences

    Hi

    I would like to buy both, vbulletin and IPB licences asap.

    VB licences have to be active, at least 90 days old, owned and transferrable.

    I pay in light of the new forced upgrade procedures at vb different (lower) prices then 4 weeks ago. Depending on the expiration level this will vary.

    Please are aware that upgrades at vb are not possible anymore for old licences. If you want to upgrade, you have to renew the licence totally. The difference between the two expreesions is 175 USD vs. 40 USD. So vb screwed the old users on this part. This disadvantage has to be reflected in used prices.

    With IPB licences, please are aware that IPB does not allow the transfer of one licence only. You have to transfer the whole account with all attached licences.

    why don't you buy an original one ? then you are sure that only you have it and that it wasn't sold to more people.

    because vb is obviously too expensive with their new policy. vbulletin raised prices twice within the last 15 months. First 149$, then 180 and now 195. And renewals are not possible anymore. Price increase from 40$ before October 2009 to now 175$+ beacuse you have always to buy a NEW licence.

    So there is no question. Vbulletin will die in my portfolio.

    Longterm I will switch to phpbb3 and IPB. IPB has better features then vb (even has standard features you get only as a hack at vb.org) a real template system, hooks etc. and is significantly cheaper:

    125$ single licence
    99$ 2+ licences
    49$ 25+ licences

    Only people who do not know the market or are afraid converting would be difficult stay with vb. Converting is EASY. Even with phpbb3.
