vbulletin hack allowing better SEO?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by younghistorians, Jun 12, 2004.

While browsing the Vbulletin.org forums, I found this hack, which changes the archives in Vbulletin to the thread titles.html instead of the regular t-xxx.html:
    http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=66083

The author claims this allows for better SEO and better positioning in the SERPS. What do you say about it?

I'm willing to give it a try but im not sure it really matters.

    Thanks!

Probably not that big of a deal... just depends on if you want to use the title keywords as the keywords in your URL. Would make for some really ugly URLs in my opinion.

yeah, it's not like the bots will penalize you for the xxx-t.html ones, it's just that you don't get any benefit from the file name... it could make a small difference, I guess, but I don't really know that it's worth it
