Hi everyone. I am in the process of building vBulletin FAQ, a new site for new and inexperienced owners of a vBulletin forum based website. I thought now would be a good time to take the tempature and see how my progress is going. 2 things to note. a. The graphics and color scheme are being developed. The banner is temporary; b. I havent done the meta tags for the pages yet. Mostly this site is geared toward vBulletin Forum Owners. But there are topics such as Web Hosting, Basic SEO and Link Development, among others. Those issues aside. Please give your opinions. Also, if anyone wants to contribute articles, I am happy to accept submissions. You will of course receive a link back as the author. - Thanks for your honest opinions and advice.
I feel that your site has huge potential, and it will be quite popular IMO. My opinions 1) The header needs to be changed You said that was temp. so I assume you will change it. 2) Layout looks very nice. Maybe changing the color scheme will help set you apart from the other sites? (You did say you may be changing them) 3) I didn't see a forum of your own? Have you considered adding one? This is the type of site I would join and frequent, as I'm sure others will. Keep on building! I have you bookmarked!
Yup - Header is being done now - along with color scheme - I will most likely add a forum - THanks for the input - any comments about what is there?
It looks good to me. I will need to add vBulletin to one of my sites in the next few months so this will be helpful.
I find what is there already, very informative. Things I would consider, *Changing the images of $$ to maybe something else vbulletin related. *On your header menu, maybe add drop down menu's to your content. *Get some more vbulletin skins and style info in there ASAP I imagine alot of people are looking for stuff like that. Maybe get a affiliate with some of the paid skinners. You are of to a nice start, just keep building those links and content items. Your site could be a huge help to those getting started with vbulletin. I would strongly suggest adding a forum to your site, and by judging your other forum's you will have no problem getting that going.
Overall I really like the site. The organization etc. looks good to me. The one issue I'd worry about is the fact that you have vbulletin in your domain name. IANAL, but I think you "could" get into trademark issues. I'll certainly be visiting the site for VB info.
I have seen other site's use vbulletin in their domain name's. I can't see why vbulletin would have an issue with it seeing that it is promoting their product, but you never know. The organization is fantastic, everything is nicely laid out on the front page. I still feel that the header graphic is out of place. Is this going to be your final? Do you still plan on adding a forum?? because I would actually like to join
im working on the graphics now - what do you think? I'm not worried about trademark issues. I am knowlegable in trademark issues as far as domains go and I should be fine. I doubt vBulletin would want to pursue such a claim anyway.
