Can anyone tell me what is the WYSIWYG editor used by vBulletin to write posts?

It was developed by vBulletin developers.

    Thanks, Shawn!

Can you tell me if this editor supports an HTML WYSIWYG mode (besides the markup mode DP has enabled)?

I'm looking for a simple WYSIWYG HTML editor that creates small, efficient HTML (ex: <b> tag instead of <strong>, uses FONT tag instead of SPAN). I'm wondering if I buy vBulletin if I'll get that sort of editor.

I doubt it... the span and strong tags are generally "better" to use as far as W3C compliance.

    Why is W3C compliance important?

I've always found that keeping my HTML markup-to-Visible text ratio as low as possible helps improve my search-engine rankings, besides helping my websites load faster - according to Consumer Reports, 20% of users are on slow connections (in my Boston neighborhood, my broadband sometimes slows to a crawl when the neighbor's kids first get home from school).

Is there a penalty for not conforming to W3C?
