Hello, I'm thinking of buying vBulletin and will be installing it myself. Problem is that I'm no techie! It all looks pretty straightforward from the documentation I've read but I was wondering if everything goes smoothly with Dreamhost? The last thing I need is some freaky glitch from my host causing e headaches so I guess I'm wondering if anyone else there has had any problems installing of Dreamhost or if it's as easy as the installation walkthrough indicates. Thanks! Kirsty
lmao dreamhost is a provider that over sells there hosting packages, i wouldnt recommend them anyone. any one that offers 500GB off disk space & 5TB off bandwidth for $5 a month is joke, there is no way in that world any host could afford to give away that find off resources for that price. theyre abound to suspend your account even if you use 1% off the resource's theyre offering you. i would recommend find a good hosting provider that offer realistic packages. i recommend you visit webhostingtalk.com or webhostingoffers.net here you will find advice and help on choosing a web hosting company. i am currently using hostingdepartment.net for hosting my two vbulletin forums and would recommend them to anyone. i have used this company for over 3 years now and havent had any problems with them since day 1
ibpro2 thanks for your concern but that's not what I was asking. I'm happy with Dreamhost I'm just on the lookout for any problems people have had installing vBullettin since I really don't know what I'm doing! Thanks for the info just.
I just moved AWAY from dreamhost. I think they aren't a bad host, but they are a SHOCKING vbulletin host! I've heard a lot of people saying the same thing. My forum ran horribly slowly and sometimes was down even though the server was up and running! I'm now on hostgator, it's not crazy crazy fast but it'll do the job. I've posted on my blog about the problems I've been having...
Ah sorry mate, I thought you were just talking about Dreamhost in general. That's good to know. I was originally just talking about installing it, I didn't even consider operating speeds. Anyone else have problems with them?
