Hello, I own 2 forums 1 vbulletin and 1 phpBB I will convert the phpBB database to vBulletin. Now, the problem is to merge them. I want to merge both the vbulletin databases into one without loosing anything. Any help is appreciated.
Your best way to do this is to put up two dummy boards with the two databases you want to merge. Then you use the vbulletin importer called Impex. It will do it for you.
How do I do it with impEX. Its a convertor. Will it merge the both Databases as well? Also, some members have registered at both forums, thus same email address. Will ImpEx be able to skip those or it'll write out new ones?
You may end up with some broken links when people refer to other threads from within a post but Impex is generally excellent. I needed to do some hacking of the table names because the phpbb version I upgraded used some standard phpnuke table names but it was so slick - and that was for a fairly large forum.
Both dont have much members, one has about 1.5k with 7k posts and other one has 13k+ with 80k+ posts.
