Ah. So they have upgraded the version in their official forums. It is not that slow but vb 4 was far better than this as per me. Btw vb 5 has alerts and conversation system?
That's cool. In mobile a mobile version also coming the old vb4 mobile version was cleaner and better.
The notification system in vB5 definitely doesn't work very well though I just realized. You have to go to the "privatemessage" page (no idea why, since it's not a PM), and at the bottom there's notifications there... you can click them, but you still have to go back there to delete them one by one to get them off your notifications counter. Not very well thought out.
There are too few improvements which won't make me spend another 250 bucks per license. But I'll await vB6 and decide after its release.
It's not terribly impressive speed-wise. 23.1 seconds to load the main page (vs. 1.7 seconds for this site as a comparison, which has way more custom stuff, ads, social buttons, etc. which slow it down):
Not impressed by it at all. The only thing its done is given me a little more respect for vB4 and I'm not really a fan of it.
I am really disappointed with vb5, very buggy. And I cannot understand that they did not even try to make at least a bit decent and attractive by playing with some colours, gifs and border-colors and such? I know it can be customized, but they do not even try to show how it can look attractive. Just simple blue text all over, very weird. I wonder what is going on?
Vbulletin is the best forum software perios. Currently i use mybb (great if you don't have the cash for vbulletin) but my forum is really starting to grow (cricketlife.net) So iam going to switch over soon. so excited
Vb5 default skin looks so awful. It looks like IPB and I don't like the IPB default skin either. When I first saw vb5 I freaked out and went looking straight away at other options since I knew I would never be updating to vb5. Came across Xenforo and bought it straight away! That was before DP moved to Xenforo. Awesome to see it running on DP!
vb 4 is better than vb 5. I am going to wait awhile and let all vb 5 bugs gets worked out before using it. But vb 4 is the best.
