    Hi

could you please clarify for me before I can make a bid, because I do not understand this:

You mentioned the forum licence was bought by you 2 years ago. So the licence seems to be expired. Additionally you say it is a vBulletin 4 Suite. But vbulletin suite 4 offers was only introduces 3-4 weeks ago (actually the CMS and vb4 stable does even not exist yet. It is all beta/alpha) . So this means that you took the upgrade offer for 130$ for old vblicence owners. So the licence is now obviously not expired.

Since vbulletin changed its upgrade policy, I am not sure how it is with selling the new vb4 licences. My question is now and I would ask you to check this in written with vb:

Is there not a 90 day holding period required for your licence, before you are allowed to resell it? For all vb3.8x licnces this is required.

Is the expiration of your upgrade vb4 unlimited to the life of version 4 (even if this is in 3 years from now), or binded on the 12 months renewal period of your old vb3.8x licence. If the latter is the case, any free upgrade to newer versions of vb4 would end probably in October 2010.

A fresh vb4 forum licence new costs 195$ directly at vb (again this is only early beta, not yet stable and not yet meant for production sites). Is there room for negotiations, if I am not at all interested in a CMS, which will anyway be available earliest in 2010...?

    Thanks in advance

    Code (markup):
License was never expired. I used to update every year. Recently I bought vBulletin 4 Suite worth $285 during pre-sale offer. Yes, vBulletin 4 is still in beta stage. They are done with Alpha. Exactly I bought it during pre-sale offer. License is active and free updates valid for life of vBulletin 4. ( Till vBulletin 5 comes out )

Since vbulletin changed its upgrade policy, I am not sure how it is with selling the new vb4 licences. My question is now and I would ask you to check this in written with vb:

I don't know! But I can change email address and contact details saying I want to transfer license to my partner.

    Code (markup):
vBulletin Solutions are selling only vBulletin 4. If you purchase it, you will have access to vBulletin 3, vBulletin 2 etc. You can use it for lifetime. In my case, You will get updates for free for vBulletin 4 lifetime.

A fresh vb4 forum licence new costs 195$ directly at vb (again this is only early beta, not yet stable and not yet meant for production sites). Is there room for negotiations, if I am not at all interested in a CMS, which will anyway be available earliest in 2010...?
    Code (markup):
Even though you purchased it now, you will not have access to forum software as only pre-sale customers can download betas.

If you are not interested in CMS and Blogs, then I shall recommend you to purchase vBulletin 4 Forum only from vBulletin.com

But if you want to have them all and don't want to use one or want to use after giving more exposure, then here I am. I am willing to negotiate :)

Yes, there is - from the original date of purchase. Since this license was purchased two years ago, it becomes eligible for transfer three months after that. Therefore, it should be eligible for transfer.

That's the forum-only license. A suite is $285. This person is selling the suite, not the forum.

    Yes I know, but

    a) the CMS is in alpha stage and the forum is in beta stage, so no real value at the momen

    b) the suite is also available cheaper in presale AFAIK for new customers

    c) if you had an active vb 3.8x licence, you have gotten a special price of 130$ for the suite in October ;)

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
The pre-sale ends in 30 hours.
What does that have to do with anything?
