Thanks shawn..I respect you and your experience. i stopped coding back in 1999 when i was only doin html. Now i need to relearn php (if i want to) .. My partner does most all coding.

    There are so many plugins...

But i def. want to explore getting fit up with ver. 4.0, Jelsoft seems to know what they are doin.

I assume overtime i will become more familar with what plugins i need. I'll def. educate myself here in the forums ,and try to contribute more as i learn.

Since the gold release is out now, anybody got it installed? Like to see how it looks, plus if any issues/problems you would like to share.

Huh? I'm not sure which Jelsoft you're watching (by the way, they're not Jelsoft anymore; IB changed it to "vBulletin Solutions"), but they don't seem to have a SINGLE clue as to what they are doing.

I can't do the upgrades on my own, as I'm a moron... so I was rather disapointed in seeing this in the ACP today:
So I upgrade today, then have to update once every two weeks. Hiring a 3rd party, that averages out to a weeks worth of wages on my day job LOL.

Even with the easy upgrades (assuming I won't need to redo 1000 templates every two weeks) I really would not call a PLANNED version change for less then a month. Yeah, we all know it'll happen, that is the nature of things... but looking at the bug list, it seems that the 7th of January should likely be the GOLD release, not now... by the gods not now.

$285 for what? Something that is not even ready for beta testing?

Here are a few good quotes from those links Nick just gave...
