I'm selling my expired vBulletin 3.x Forum license. You can install up to 4.0.3 Patch Level 1 with it.

If you have any questions or need proof of ownership let me know. Check my history, I'm only selling because I just purchased an IPB license.

    Thanks!

Won't it then be illegal then because you're license has expired?

No, it just means whoever buys it will only get security patches instead of new 4.x versions. It's an owned license. Also, no support from vB.

Are you sure you can transfer the license?

That's old. It's possible to sell VB 3.x licenses. I've sold many.

The text i quoted refers to transferring expired licenses. I have also bought one VB 3.x license recently, but it was not expired.

Check DP its full of expired 3.X licenses which get sold no problem.

What you can't do is re-transfer once it already has been transferred once.

If in doubt send a request to VB and they can verify each license.

Thank you for the info, giorgioarmani. $50 as minimum bid is definitely a great price for the license.

The 3 month maintenance pack for this license is only $30 as it expired less than 12 months ago. =)

    Any questions pm me.

Well, thank you for the credit, and thank you moreso for demonstrating integrity by posting that information in this thread.

Because the vBulletin 3.8.x maintenance pack is no longer available (since March 31, 2011, as stated in the URL quoted), the only way to get access to versions higher than 3.8.5 on this license is to upgrade to the 4.x License. It's $175 for the Forum, and $250 for the Suite to upgrade. That would give you access to up to 3.8.7 (the final 3.8.X series upgrade so far). You could then use either 4.X or 3.X on your site, though only 1 of them at a time.

In so far as emailing vBulletin, it is perhaps possible, if you have done a lot of business with them in the past, there is no official bulk discount upgrade, but I don't know what arrangements they'd be willing to make on a case by case basis.

    Good tidings with the sale.
