    I upgraded my main forum to 3.8.5 a few days ago. Everything went fine and all of my modifications still work.

    If you have edited the navbar, you will have to revert the code, or add some extra code in by hand. It seems that one of the changes was the "mark forums read" feature and some kind of security token.

    You don't have to revert if you know how to compare the template version, you can update the template yourself :)
