I agree with you olti, however it is a fact that the developers @ vBulletin are far more experienced than the developers over at SMF.

I believe there's a huge difference between these two different scripts, sure they both have their own advantages, SMF being free and vB being a expensive piece of product, however powerful and rich in features.

    Regards,

vB is a very powerful script, and will remain the best forum platform for a very long time. They have a group of highly skilled programmers and top support which makes them a clear winner in my eyes.

Preach on, watch, I think this is going to be big. However, I have vb 3.6 with a lot of mods, and it will not be easy to get my stuff working in 3.7. For one, vbadvanced, hopefully it still works with the new upgrade. If not, looks like my forum is going to the root!

BTW, vbulletin.com is being upgraded to the new 3.7 right now, so all you guys will get to use it here in a bit!

    www.vbulletin.com/forums - It's up!

By the way for the folks complaining.... if your users don't want to use the new features, they don't have too! The profile doesn't change for them, it just moves things around and makes it more ajaxy. In fact it's pretty likely that any users that wouldn't use the new features are users that never log in to their usercp in the first place. So what's your point?

But hey I dunno, call me crazy but I think having a buddy system and a free easy to use photo album right on your forum for your users is something that would go over well with the average user.

    Just my opinion

This is awesome. I wonder if Digitalpoint will be upgrading?

The Tag feature looks intersting and they Public comments on ones profile also.

These two features, I cannot really imagine on this forum. There are a few reasons, however the tags may be misabused, for example adding tags to something completly off topic.

Also, the public comments are a great feature, however on this forums I believe there would be much offending other users, bad sales comments etc.

Looks so nice, loving the new features... although I'm not into the new 'profile viewing' page =/ it's all over the place... ahh well suppose it will grow on me. Can't wait for a public beta!

I doubt DP will upgrade. Certainly not with most of the features like public groups.

while the new features are good, they still leave a lot to be desired.

Opps. I meant DigitalPoint. I need to start proofreading.

I do plan to upgrade after it goes gold.

I think small communities should upgrade, however large ones such as DigitalPoint, SitePoint I truly doubt we'll see any changes around here -- as these features are most common and requested on smaller communities and these features may ruin the board here, spam issues and so on.

They can all upgrade. More than likely the big sites will lock the social networking sites.
