I have not upgraded yet becasue as the site says a very unique set of circumstances have to come into play before the exploit of 3.6.4 can be used.

They are actually planning on coming out with 3.6.6 but this one was rushed due to the security issue. They do have several bugs fixed in it though, so it may be worth checking out...

There are no template changes, so for stock vB there is no problem...if you have an add-on that has template or code changes, then those may be effected. All in all, it's likely one of the easiest updates since sometime before 3.5.4 (when I bought it). Though, even the bugs in this update are rather minor...you may wish for just the patch, or even just hold off till the next one [at your own risk].

It's likely advised to not take my advice and to check out the announcement thread & the discussion thread. You are bound to get more details there.

    Best of luck!

I still didn't upgrade from 3.5.5 .. having to lose 25 hacks that might not work on an upgrade doesn't make me too happy. And I doubt that 30 USD/a year I pay for the so called support would help.

You can have a second install for testing. You could set up a duplicate of your current board & then run a test upgrade... Though, you may wish to check over on vBorg to make sure your hacks have all been upgraded.

you should install updates instantly, you never know what new exploit has popped up. My favorite aspect of vbulletin is that its usually pretty good at being secure at least from the non genius types.
