    Gentlemen -

We recently paid an experienced vb developer to set up a new vb Forum and was wondering if her charge was fair. Minus the Header,..... color selection and post indicators were included in her fee. We also pre-paid which we hardly ever do and the developer took a long time to finish the Forum. She agreed upon phone contact then after a few calls she avoided answering her phone. From my fist email to right now, the set up is finally complete. Total time to complete the Forum was about 30 days and the cost for my time typing emails, waiting and calling her took away from my job therefore I lost money.

    Forum located here: http://www.oldskoolbmx.com/forums/index.php

    Thanks in advance.

The forum on your profile homepage looks far better, and at least fits my monitor without scrolling sideways.

Yes. You overpaid by a lot. 30 Days? Are you kidding me? I would have asked for a refund after MAX 7 days. There are plenty of programmers on this forum that are well trusted. Just because someone says they are an expert, that doesn't mean they are or that they are any better than your average programmer. As far as the forum costs go, $550 - 285 = $265 for the work. Most people including myself would charge less than $100 for the job. Its very simple and not complicated at all.

My advice to you is make sure you check how much other people are offering their service for in the BST section of this forum and compare prices.

    Good luck

Damn! You paid way too much for a basic skin like that! Sorry for rubbing it in, but I hope you learnt your lesson you could have purchased a better skin.

I don't really think you should post her name, pics and website. You did agree to pay her for that particular sum and even though you may feel like you overpaid but you should have made a simple research first on the cost. Not afterwords. Take it positively and make it into a learning experience. Advice others on whats the fair price is. Throw away this person's name in your life and you'll feel much better.

no doubt, seems pretty low and dirty to me
If you didn't like the price she quoted you, then you shouldn't of gone through with the deal.
I'm glad I don't have to work with clients like the OP
agree to one thing, and complain about another..lol

Loco. M is Brandon Sheley, a some time Coder who works only when he wants. Mr. Sheley is responding here only because I refused to play his game, meaning work around his schedule. Going back and forth with Sheley was a complete nightmare! My advice is avoid Sheley like the plague! And for the record Sheley never did refund my lost wages/commissions.

If you are thinking about hiring Sheley ... DONT !!!!

Here is my PM cc to DP's owner.

    Shawn -
Fyi: Brandon Sheley only works when he wants, and only if his clients accept all his conditions. In the beginning he said he would accept my request then later after I asked him more questions, he decided not to take me on. I have conlcuded that Brandon Sheley is a selfish human being, discriminates against others and only works when he wants to claiming this is his 'hobby'.

Brandon also wasted my time costing me $1000s of dollars in RE commissions.

I think Brandon Sheley posts on DP only to gain new clients which means money in his pocket. That said, if I were you I would ban Brandon or charge him a nominal fee to post on your Forum, DP.

Shawn thanks for a wonderful Forum. I have no problem donating. In fact, the monies Brandon Sheley owes me, once I get a refund, I will donate thet money to DP and that's a promise!

anyone can file those rip off sites, apparently you're not bright enough to read my rebuttal on that site and countless others that a Dave McHnery posted.. (do a little research next time before making yourself look like a fool Ray)

I have the right to work with who I want, sorry if that hurt your feelings, but maybe this is why you've had such a hard time finding ANYONE to work on your site.

Nice job, you've mastered the art of copy and past. Why didn't you past your bribe to shawn to try and get me banned? Or that you're trying to file a claim with paypal for money from me, even though no transaction was ever made...LOL Be sure to update us all on how that's going..:D
Or the email I sent you on Saturday saying that I wasn't going to have time to take on your job, and the phone call you made to me right after BEGGING me to work on your site? I guess you only want everyone to know your one sided craziness.

Keep it up Ray, this will only make you look worse, this is playground stuff.. Time to grow up and accept your actions.

pps.. enlighten us all, tell me how you calling me 3 times wasted you 1,000 of dollars?
If anything, I should of charged you for phone consulting..

    Gentlemen -

    WARNING: HEATHER BALAGH
    www.horizonwebs.com
    www.graphic-horizons.com
    www.heathersblog.com

Today, I recieved a PM warning about Heather Balagh. Apparently, I am not the only person not satisfied with her services.

    See my dedicated topic: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1764764

    -----
    Dear User:
My name is Cindy Coutts and I am writing to you to warn you about Heather Balagh if she contacts you to solicit her services. Her company name is Horizon Webs.

She has ripped myself of and countless others with the most recent being SGFish, whom you will see on the Paid Requests Board.

She cruises these boards looking for people who need help and contacts them and collects a couple hundred dollars. She'll do a few things worth of work, maybe $10, and then disappears. She targets those who don't know vBulletin very well or know any better, such as myself at one time. She will consistently ask you for more money for "additional software" when they're really free mods.

For references and proof of my claim, you can contact David Barrick at and Kenneth Leong at (SGFish).

I hope you take this message seriously enough to save yourself the grief and money of hiring this con artist.

    Best regards.
