Seriously?... C# is better is most cases, no doubt about that. But in some cases you can use VB. I would learn C# if I were you.

If you are familiar with PHP and Javascript learning C# would'nt be a difficult task for you as the Syntax is similar(Not Same)....

There's really no significant difference between VB.NET and C# in terms of performance or abilty. However, C# is probably more commonly used in larger developments and is seen as "superior" for some unfathomable reason that doesn't reflect reality.

I come from a VB background so I find VB.NET more familiar, but if you're coming from a PHP background then you'll probably find the syntax in C# more familiar. But, the difference is syntax isn't that great and you should be able to work with both languages quite comfortably if you want to hedge your bets and learn both.

If you want to learn the languages, you can't really go wrong with the Wrox beginner and professional series books. There's others, but I've used the Wrox series for years and still delve into then when looking to remind me how to do something.

If you really don't prefer one from another, then I suggest that you go for C#. It has similar syntax.

c# is actually more familiar in comparison to vb.net. but it all comes to which you're more comfortable with.

    Hi,

I started with C# and there are lots of sample programs on the Internet. Currently I want to add softphone feature to my web application. I found a good guide for that purpose.
If interested you can check it by typing the followings in Google: "How to add a Flash SIP softphone to a web application"
As far as I know you can also find samples in VB.NET there.

xna 4.0 for c# is awsome.

c# with thousands of gaming scripts built in (shaders, particle things, matricies),
and you can compile for xbox360, windows mobile, and windows (8 too!!!!!!!)
