To make the site better you should get a professional logo and decrease the size of the font in the navigation of the site the Quick and the Links in the navigation of the site does not fit on the same line because it's too large this looks a bit unprofessional.

Sorry but I am not understanding this
It looks fine to me, do you mind telling me what browser your are using and could you explain it a little differently. As for the logo, any logo can be better honestly. But yes it is fairly basic.

My first impressions were it's a bit fixed, I mean width wise. I prefer a fluid forum but that's my preference, I know others prefer fixed. Because the sidebar takes up some of the space, I think it would be better if you increased the size of the width (if possible).

It's always good to start out with as less forums as possible. Too many empty sections doesn't portray the right impression, no-one want to join a dead forum. Try and compress a few forums into one and it will look busier. Once it gets off the ground you can expand them out because there will be more posts that you can move into each section. I see you have a few subforums within each section too, maybe the same applies to those.

Ads are useless on a site where no-one visits, why not remove the ads until it becomes more active. An ad free board is more appealing to would be members.

It hard to start a vb support forum because there's a lot of successful boards out there already. Have a look at them all, take things that you like from them all and apply that to your forum. What can you offer new members that other forums of the same type do not?

    Good luck!
