When I enter my website URL in a Google search and check the "links" and "contains the term" results, I see the results vary significantly throughout the day. When the results for "links" and "contains the term" are high numbers, search rankings for my keywords are high also.....and vice versa. My most important keyword phrase can vary from 35 to 57 on many days. Can anyone explain what causes the variations? Redwing
Shawn, Sorry....I'm relatively new to this game(not to mention old & feeble). Here's the URL for the page that I get when I do a search for "www.redwinggolf.com": http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=www.redwinggolf.com&btnG=Google+Search
But you should be aware Redwing, that the Google link:url. com search is really kind of a feeble thing, displaying only a small random portion of the links that Google acutally knows about and uses for ranking your page. By my estimates the link:search only displays about 10-15% of your links. You may get a better view of the pages linking to your site by doing a link:url .com search in MSN or a link:http//:url. com in Yahoo which will usually return a far greater number of links than Google, but you have to understand that there will be links that Google knows about and MSN and Yahoo do not and vice versa so its only an estimate, but IMO a better estimate than the Google link search.
I use www.marketleap.com to check IBLs, it checks a number of sites for all of the major search engines at the same time.
Market Leap is great... here is a great tool for monitoring your links... http://www.optilinksoftware.com/
