I am in a niche where 90% of the traffic happens over a very short time period. I was wondering, for those of paid/exchanged links for a short time (3 or less months) if this is an effective way to temporarily boost rankings for certain keywords? Thanks, Helen
My impression is that google doesn't give much weight to a link for a while, so short term links that expire won't help too much. It also may actually hurt you because google might think you are a spammer who is building a lot of links and then the webmasters find your spam and delete it. I don't know if there's anything to my last thought... or if I'm just paranoid. Anyone else?
try to get link to highly relevant site with good ranking position for your target keywords, I tried this and it work also make sure they will place your link in page with PR for link juice purpose.
Value of short term traffic is more during festive seasons when client required that i need this amount of traffic then it is worth.
That sounds like a good idea. However, I would not suggest link exchanges. Try to get more one way backlinks. There are other ways to get dofollow backlink without paying too. A mix of paid and free links will make your campaign look natural. You will be able to see the difference in SERP ranking for any of your link building activity. Try to get high quality back links: - relevant pages - contextual - low outbound links - anchored keyword - link surrounded by important targeted keywords - the page that linking you should not have any outgoing links to bad neighborhood sites like adult, gambling, pharma, etc. and more. The quality plays an important role to help you gain higher ranking in SERP with faster results.
