RZ was flooded with webmasters requesting site submission updates for their cheesy commercial and affiliate websites, and wannabe editors that lost their grammar back in kindergarten.

The cuddly Metas responded guardedly and oozed condescension. Follow the rules! Stand up straight! Silence, fool!

The webmasters are shell-shocked after they've been through the RZ wringer.

All of which makes me wonder about the comment that The Resourceless Zone is useful for recruiting new editors.

What kind of editors would want to join the group after reading the kinds of threads s/he has just seen at RZ?

Ya so does that give any editor to bitch at any new user ? Is everyone alike, if thats what RZ thinks than if one editor is a bitch we can all assume other editors are bitches too right ? Or does RZ think its all supreme and all mighty?

paidhosting, don't make the mistake of painting all DMOZ editors with the Resourceless Zone brush.

There are many editors who avoid RZ like they avoid rotting garbage. For the life of me, I cannot understand why DMOZ didn't long ago force them to alter their logos, etc., to distance the directory from that sorry cesspool of arrogant bullies with absolutely nothing nto be arrogant about.

Look at the list of editors who post regularly at RZ and you have a list of editors who constitute 90% of the problem with DMOZ.

Look at the editors who rarely if ever post there and you have the other side of the coin - a list of editors who constitute what little remaining value DMOZ has.

No no i was not talking about all editors mostly those at RZ involved. As RZ is the topic discussed. everyone is not alike and i understand that.
But i bet if there is some nice editor out there he probably be spanked out of dmoz from other evil editors for sure for including some site that was worth including but some other editor didnt like it or was a competitor of that site.

But i see RZ is like rotting garbage and should be avoided at all costs.

Ivan, I'm going to nominate you for most evil ex-editor in the next mozzies.

Seriously, I have to admit I've seen it take many months/years for editors to reach consensus but in all fairness it's not just metas. ALL editors are involved in discussions that require consensus, even newbies. Sometimes that's a good thing and sometimes it's not.

On the other hand it's much more common for the editors to reach consensus in a couple of days or weeks. It's just not noticed as much because it happens so quickly and everyone gets back to work ;)

The more controversial issues seem to be more memorable. Can we blame human nature?

I do not know why any lawsuite will take place cause the site is not trying to bash dmoz or degrade its value its an effort to once again help dmoz gain its reputation back. its not dmozsucks.com :D But if they want the domain they can have it ,i will just move every post and data to some other domain.

Remember domain name is good only for serps and content is by the members. I doubt dmoz or rz can file a lawsuite for taking away members as they are all volunteers just like editors of dmoz.

    @ annie whats mozzies?

Excellent! Everyone who votes for me will get big fat check I mean thank you card form me! :D

    Yep, removals are fast. :p

Still it is double trademark violation, even if there is no trademark technically involved who would pass up such golden opportunity for law suit! Just imagine the publicity of such case! It would quadruple traffic on all websites involved with common people other then webmasters and editors visiting them. :D

Some silly gif files which editors like to pill up in there profiles...
