Value of PremiumHost.com (registered in 1998)

Discussion in 'Appraisals' started by TehPsan, Dec 2, 2006.

I'm looking to sell my domain PremiumHost.com. I currently have two offers on another forum, one for $1000 and one for $1200. However, seeing it's a great, easy to remember early .com from 1998 I think it's worth a bit more.

    Any tips?

    Thanks for looking!

I would also say those offers are on the low end.

    Thanks a lot Hoff,

Do you know any good places to sell it? I've listed it on Sitepoint and SEDO but haven't got any real offers.

Afternic, Namepros.com, DNForum.com... those will tell you the real market value. Sedo has lots of browsers but I've bought more from Afternic and in fact never from Sedo.

This is surely a nice domain name More then 2K for it. $1000 offer is not good enough for a domain name with this keywords and this age.

I agree, but to play devils advocate, the keywords arent that great for SEO:
Results 1 - 10 of about 16,700 for "premium host".

0 on overture and pretty much the same for wordtracker.
    http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/?keywords=premium+host&country=us

However, with all that, the domain is highly brandable, easy to remember, and worth mid to high $X,XXX.

I'd still say it's worth mid-high $xx,xxxx because of the keywords by themselves. A hosting company might even want to buy it as a redirect domain -- a lot of companies do that.

It may not be a good name for SEO. or it might not have any overture.

    But consider this.

    JohnDoeHosting.com
    PremiumHost.com

From a random 100 users I think 80 people will choose PremiumHost.com even if it has costlier plans compared to the other.

I agree (with what Nick_Mayhem said) that is it very brandable and can describe the service very well.
