Just a theory from observation, wondered what people thought... Sometimes it seems as if I get a massive jump (40-60 places) for reasonably competative keywords in my field whenever google registers new bls and then slowly creep down (though never all the way)... could google be saying "ooh, interesting, someone else wants to link here" or is it just the effect of other sites climbing?
does that run contrary to the sandbox theory for new links? From what I'm noticing, the closer related a site is to the site it links to, the more punch the link has. If its unrelated, the link doesn't mean nearly as much.
Back links Links on a different site that link back to you I have also notice the jump and slow decline and then another jump IMO I was thinking that maybe g actually updates your links every few days I have noticed when I have added a bunch of links in a few days.
hmmm I was under the understanding that Google backlinks take a while to be shown while Yahoo shows them faster. Clubmedia, You also might take into account that the anchor text is also important on your links. Therefore...when having your signature links as you do, many think that keyword anchors will help more than something else like the name of your site (assuming you do not have keywords in your site name).
