Value of members on a website?

    Hey,
My apologies if this is in the wrong forum, but I've looked it over and couldn't find a better place to put it. I'm not actually looking to sell it (unless I do get given an offer I cant refuse ;) ) so I didnt post this in the "for sale" section.

Anyways, I'm just curious what the value of members to a website is.
This website in particular is one I own. Its been around for just over two years now, and in this time its received 135,000 registrations, and currently has 118,000 accounts.
It recieves between 100 and 2,000 registrations a day.
The website currently has 175 members online (and its the emtpiest time of day). It generally has between 200 - 400 online at any given time, though I have seen far more.

I'm just wondering what that amount of members does to a websites value, regardless of its current income.
I have been browsing the "sites for sale" section on here and SP for quite a while now, but not once have I seen a website with this amount of members for sale.
The website is an online mmorpg, custom coded, for which registration is required.

I doubt that many of you will be able to give me good advice based on experience, but for those of you that can, I'd appreciate it!

It's really weird actually, because I've seen 50 member forums sell for like $250. So I guess it really depends on how much someone would be able to milk it.

Sure, sent a link via PM.
    Also, its not a forum.
There are forums and chat (agian custom coded for the purpose) integrated, and the community is a large part of it, but by FAR not all.

I would also like to see the site.

But to your question I think larger forums and communities usually sell for more than small communities.

what often happens is that spammers will register often at your site to test the waters, once they see that you do no delete/moderate new arbitrary signups they might start spammings from new accounts.

If they are however genuine members then you must try figure out why they are registering and try make money of it ;)
