If there are 100 sites with PR 1-5 linking to me, is it possible for my pagerank to be able to reach PR6? Or do I have to have PR6-10 Links to my site to get above a PR of 5.

You need to have pr 6 plus links to your site.

You can do it with pr 1-5 links, but you'd need probably 1000 or more.

It's hard to say, I would guess probably not. It really depends on the actual breakdown of the pages linking to you and how many other links are on the page. I would guess though probably a PR4. If you really want a PR5 then buy a PR6 link, that should get you there along with those other links. There are a few good directories that have categories that high. Site Sift is one.

If you have enough PR1 links you could get to PR10 but it would take an awful lot of links. It depends on the number of other links on the pages linking to you and what their PR is. I wouldn't expect a 5 based on number of links alone as their are other factors to take into account and PR isn't the most profitable things to spend your time on anyway.

Does google give me an automatic back link of PR10? Same with all the other search engines/directories?

Since google links to me through their search engine, is that a PR10 back link? Can the same be said about other Directories where my link is located?

I understood it was from back links, but i was just wondering if good directories give you quality back links.

It is possible to get a PR5 with only 20-30 links (showing) in google. Get links from sites related to yours and they seem to carry more weight. But, as was already mentioned, the backlinks are what is really important. Just focus on the backlinks and the PR will come anyway.

    Please ...

All PR is is a measurement of a made up value of a web page determined by backlinks and the PR value of the linking pages.

Has nothing to do with relevance and has little to do with position in SERPs.

"You need to have pr 6 plus links to your site."
    Bullshit.

"pr will come with good backlinks"
Bullshit. Relevancy etc. is not part of it.

"Get links from sites related to yours and they seem to carry more weight."
    Bullshit.

    "(showing) in google"
For god sake don't use Google when checking backlinks.

Read some articles before continue to post about PR so we can elimate junk from the SEO threads.

    I am glad. :)

I don't think this helped you very much:

"also a good illustration about pr is like a bucket of water"

    lmao

Do you know of any good articles on PR that are legit? Any good informational websites on link exchange, back linking, etc?

don't go reading about that kind of stuff, you will get confused and you could be building pages of content instead..

If you want to get a high pr get links..lots of links..preferably from as high pr sites as possible, but go get them...don't do anything naughty..go get them one at a time by submitting or asking for them...anything will do even >> this one
