Hi, I have joined some forums and given a signature for myself with a link to my website. I am wondering if this would be an acceptable link building practice ? Thanks
Of course it is an acceptable link building practice - no doubt. Better if you can join according to your niche forums - those signature links would be more valueable.

it is and lot of people use this method of link building. if you are using forum sig as a link building method, then focus on forums or subforums where your post will stay up on the front page long enough for google to index the post. usually less busy forums or less busy subforums on a busy forum works better for link building
Yeah off course it is a good practice. Be an active member of forums. It will help you to generate good quality back links.
