I have to ask? Just how valuable are links from signatures in forums like digital point? I see users posting thousands of useless posts. Does this technique help or just wasting time. I've noticed Google recognizes the links from my signature as long as the page is indexed. Let me know.

years ago sig links appeared to be higher valued by G - now in my experience of past 1-2 years there is no significant value at all. typical pages in DP forum such as THIS page usually have all PR0 ... = zero value except that a NEW article linked on your site might be faster found / indexed by G than without unless you use other efficient promotional tools to push NEW articles on your site.

    It's a backlink :)
And you inform other DP members of your websites, they might be interested.

if you are gonna be posting in the forum, why not use the sig links anyways? now how valuable a sig link is the question.

some threads will stay on the top due to its popularity for a long time and get indexed by google over and over finally having its own PR. getting a backlink from that thread will help for sure. and there are lots of threads that doesn;t last on the front page for more than an hour and never ever get looks at. so those threads will not get indexed anymore and will not have any of its own PR. so you get the picture, some of the sig link might give you quality backlinks.

btw, there is another thread going on with the same question here
